Terms and conditions
The order terms the lab works to: minimums, payment, turnaround, pickup windows, mail order, and film handling.
Last updated September 2026. Demo draft for Indie Photo Lab; review before publishing.
Orders and minimums
Develop only orders have a $20 minimum and print orders a $10 minimum. Scan only orders carry a base charge in addition to the per strip, per sheet, or per slide price.
Prices on this site are those listed by the lab at the time of writing and can change without notice. Where a price is shown as a starting price, the final price depends on the film format and is confirmed at the counter or by message before processing starts.
Payment
For drop off and mail order work the lab sends a payment link by text message once the order is ready. Processing starts after payment is received. No card details are written on order forms and cards are not kept on file.
Turnaround
Turnaround times are typical, not guaranteed, and stretch during busy periods, summer especially. Anything time sensitive should be discussed by phone or email before the film is handed over.
Negatives, prints, and pickup
Prints and negatives from counter orders that are not collected within 30 days, and negatives from after hours drop offs not collected within 60 days, may be discarded. Call if you cannot make the deadline.
Mail order negatives can be held for up to 6 months before they are discarded. Sleeving is $0.25 per roll where offered.
Mail order
Mail order is for develop and scan work only. The lab is not responsible for packages lost or stolen in transit, so use a tracking number. Return shipping is charged as listed on the mail order page and the current order form.
Do not send film that has been tampered with or soaked in any substance. It can damage the processor and the chemistry, and the lab may refuse it.
Film and processing
E-6 film is cross processed in C-41 chemistry; results differ from true E-6 processing and should be discussed by phone first. The lab is not responsible for defects in off-brand or expired film, and processing of damaged film is at the customer's risk.
Digital ICE dust and scratch removal is applied to compatible color film only. Black and white scans are cleaned as far as practical by hand.
Liability
Film is irreplaceable. The lab handles it with care, but its liability for any loss or damage is limited to replacement of an equivalent quantity of unexposed film and any processing fees paid. Customers who need higher cover should insure their work separately.
